How it runs

Twenty one days,
start to doorstep.

Every job runs on the same clock. The dates below are working days from the moment you say go, and we tell you the day you would have to miss for the event date to be at risk.

Express runs land in 10 days Reorders from an existing die ship in 8

0Day

The brief

Tell us the event, the quantity and the date. You get a price and a route back within one working day, from a person who has made this exact thing before.

2Day

Artwork

Our studio redraws your logo as a relief, because a flat file is not a sculpture. You see both faces before anything is cut. Revisions are free until you sign it off.

4Day

Tooling

Your artwork is cut into a steel die. That die belongs to you and we store it, so the reorder in two years matches the first run exactly.

9Day

Strike and finish

Struck under 300 tonnes, plated, enamelled by hand and polished. Every piece is checked against the signed sample before it goes near a box.

21Day

Dispatch

Ribboned, bagged or boxed, counted twice and tracked to your door or straight to the venue. We send the spare five percent as standard.

The rack

Two thousand
one hundred dies.

Every job we have ever run is a piece of hardened steel on a shelf behind the press. Yours goes on the end of the row with your name on it, and it stays there. The oldest one still in use was cut in 2010, for a rowing club that reorders every March.

Made for

Anyone with a
finish line.

Last year we struck 214,000 pieces. Roughly half of them went to events with under four hundred entrants.

  • Boxing and MMA promotions
  • Brazilian jiu-jitsu academies
  • Schools and universities
  • Rowing and sailing clubs
  • Powerlifting federations

The belt

The one nobody
puts in a drawer.

A belt is the only award a winner wears. It gets held over a head, photographed a thousand times and defended in public, so it is built like a piece of luggage rather than a piece of jewellery.

The belt landed two days before the show. The champion has not taken it off since, and I have the photographs to prove it.

Medals

Struck,
not printed.

A struck medal has weight, a real edge and a relief you can read with your thumb in the dark. It costs about forty pence more than a printed one and it survives the drawer.

Die-struck

What we do

A steel die is cut from your artwork and the blank is struck under pressure. The metal moves rather than being poured, so detail stays crisp and the piece rings when you tap it.

Best detailHeaviest feel

Die-cast

Sometimes right

Molten alloy poured into a mould. Good for shapes a press cannot make, such as deep cut-outs and heavy 3D. Slightly softer edges and a little more porous under plating.

Complex shapesOn request

Printed

Not from us

A blank disc with artwork printed under a resin dome. Cheap, fast, and it will scratch and yellow. If your budget only reaches here, we would rather tell you than take the order.

Ribbon

Woven or sublimated.

Sublimated ribbon prints edge to edge in full colour and is included in the prices above. Woven ribbon has the thread texture you feel on a military medal and adds 40p a piece. Both come in 22, 25 and 38 mm.

Nine stock colours held Pantone match from 300 pieces

Need a lanyard instead? We print those too, in 15 or 20 mm, with a safety breakaway as standard on anything going to under-16s.

Send us the artwork.

A logo and a rough quantity is enough to start. We will tell you the size that suits the budget before you commit to anything.

Trophies

Shelf life
measured
in decades.

Most club trophies are resin with a gold coat that flakes at the handles inside three years. Ours are cast, turned or cut from optical crystal, and the plate is engraved rather than stuck on.

Materials

Four ways to build one.

01 Cast metal

Zinc alloy or bronze, plated or patinated. The classic cup with real handles. Heaviest and the most repairable.

From £38

02 Optical crystal

K9 optical glass, sub-surface laser engraved so the mark sits inside the block and cannot rub off.

From £28

03 Turned oak

English oak or walnut, turned on a lathe in Warwickshire, oiled not lacquered. Grain differs on every one.

For figures and large sculptural shapes where metal would price the job out. Hand-painted, not sprayed.

Worth saying

On perpetual trophies.

If you run an annual competition, buy one good trophy rather than twenty poor ones. A bronze cup on an oak base costs about the same as five seasons of resin, and by year six it looks like your club has been there forever.

We store, clean and re-engrave perpetuals for member clubs at no charge. Nine trophies in our safe have been coming back to us since 2011.

Ask about perpetuals

One trophy or a whole prize table.

Send us the categories and we will lay out a prize table that looks deliberate rather than assembled from a catalogue.

Championship belts

How a belt gets built

Five weeks,
one bench.

  • Week 1Concept sketch and a colour render of the front. Nothing is cut until you sign it
  • Week 2Plates CNC cut from sheet alloy, then filed and polished by hand
  • Week 3Plating tank, then enamel laid by brush and cured
  • Week 4Stones set one at a time. A 200 stone belt is roughly two days on its own
  • Week 5Leather cut, stitched, riveted and fitted. Photographed and shipped in a case

Describe the belt in your head.

A rough sketch on a napkin is genuinely fine. We render it properly before anything is cut, and you can change your mind twice for free.

Process

You own
the die.

Most suppliers keep the tooling and hold your reorder to ransom with it. We cut your die, invoice it once, and it stays yours in our rack with your name on the end of it.

2,100 dies stored Oldest still in use 2010

0Day

The brief

Event, quantity, date and a rough budget. A price and a route back inside one working day, from someone who has made this before.

2Day

Artwork

We redraw your logo as a relief and proof both faces. Revisions are free until you sign it off. Vector is ideal, a photograph of a badge will do.

4Day

Tooling

Artwork is cut into a hardened steel die. Yours, stored here, so a reorder in two years matches the first run exactly rather than nearly.

9Day

Strike and finish

Struck at 300 tonnes, trimmed, plated, enamelled by hand, cured and polished. Checked against the signed sample before packing.

21Day

Dispatch

Ribboned and counted twice. To your door or straight to the venue, with five percent spares in the box as standard.

Answered plainly.
